Well we made it through our CD Release concerts- and had a ton of fun. We had amazing reception, especially in our homezones of Victoria and Cowichan. It was so exhilarating to bring these songs from the new album to our fans, and be surrounded by all the love of our families and friends. It was also really fun to play with amazing fiddler Ivonne Hernandez– and it looks like we may have acquired a new band member!! We have so many people to thank for making it all come together: Wynn Gogol and Katherine, Catherine Black and Matty, Victoria Pang, Dave O Rama, Axel, Zena Green, Dan Green, Francois, Sadie, Kim, Orith, the HUB, Lisa, Faro, Peter Mynett- who did all our sound for Vic and Cowichan- Jess for pics, Jeremy Walsh, Kelly Girvan, Ivonne and Tasia, Colin and Wendi and Margaret, and anyone else who helped out, came out and/or bought a CD- thank-you so much!!!
So we’ve had a little breather after that whirlwind and just did a couple shows- the always-lovely Tall Ship Thane 3 Hour Sail in June, and also-lovely Buchart Gardens in early July. Bucharts is such a beautiful stage and has great sound- and a stellar line-up of changing live entertainment.
We received an amazing CD review from Folk Radio UK– so cool to have a reviewer go into every song in detail! And that’s led to a little more international attention. We will see if we can drum up any more reviews…
And we are very excited to announce that we will be playing at Rifflandia Festival in September in Victoria! This is an amazing, sweeping festival with a stellar line-up.We will play on Friday the 16th at 11:30pm at the Northern Quarter but there’s lots of amazing artists: Check it all out here
That show is followed by shows in Qualicum and on Mayne Island. In September we’ll also be testing our culinary prowess making good on one of the Indigogo Perks- cooking gourmet 4 course meal for 8 followed by band serenade! All at the lovely Blue Grouse Winery! Hopefully we can impress with the food as much as the music!!
